CUHK, like other renowned institutions around the world, is committed to the important tradition of establishing endowed professorships through partnership with benefactors for fostering academic excellence and enhancing its strategic development. CUHK has in practice an Endowed Professorship Scheme since 1993 under which internationally renowned scholars are invited to the University as distinguished visiting professors or distinguished professors with a requisite period of resident service, usually from one term to an entire academic year.
