General Information
Regulations Governing Admission of Local Associate Students
  1. An applicant whose educational standard is considered adequate by the Department and the Board of the Faculty concerned may be admitted as an associate student to pursue an approved course of study not leading to a degree of the University.

  2. Application for admission as an associate student shall be supported by a certified true copy of academic record and submitted to the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid by a specified date.

  3. An associate student shall receive an academic report on the course(s) he/she has taken.
  
Application Details
  1. Application forms are obtainable at the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid, The Chinese University of Hong Kong; OR can be downloaded here.

  2. Completed application forms (in duplicate) should be submitted to the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid together with the following documents:

    1. Copy of Hong Kong Identity Card/Passport*
    2. Certified true copies of credentials as stipulated in the application form

  3. An application fee of HK$400.00 should be paid when the applicants submit their application in person. Applicants who submit their application by post should send the completed application form together with a bankdraft or crossed cheque of HK$400.00 made payable to “The Chinese University of Hong Kong ”. Application fees paid are not refundable.

  4. Courses available for 2008-09 are to be confirmed. Applicants can refer to the course list and the unit in the University Undergraduate Student Handbook 2007-08 (http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/aqs) for selection of course(s) applied.
Note:  
Copy of Hong Kong Identity Card/Passport will only be used for verification purpose. It will be removed from the applicant's file after the said purpose has been completed.
  
Tuition Fee
  • Course load of 1-11 units - HK$1,300.00 per unit
  • Course load of 12-18 units - HK$21,050.00 per term
  
The information collected from your application form will be used for the following purposes
  1. as a basis for selection of applicants for admission in the first or second semester of the 2008-09 academic year as an associate student and other relevant or related purposes; and

  2. for verifying information about the applicant's candidature for public examinations and studies from the relevant institutions in Hong Kong and elsewhere; and

  3. for identifying multiple applications and records of previous studies as a student in the University and other institutions; and

  4. as part of the student record upon registration to a course, which will be used for all purposes relating to his/her study in accordance with the procedures of the University.
