Applicants can submit applications via the Internet through Online application. Paper application forms are also obtainable at the Graduate School Office (Room G01, G/F., Academic Building No.1, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shatin, N.T.).

Completed application forms and required support documents should be returned to the relevant divisions, as specified in the "Notes for Applicants" of the application form. All supporting documents, including transcripts from the universities attended by the applicants and confidential recommendations from two referees, must reach the relevant divisions before the application deadline.
Applicants who apply via the Internet: Online application, should quote the "Application No." generated for their applications when they send the hardcopies of their supporting documents to the Graduate Divisions.
The required support documents include:
1.
Completed paper Application Form/Submit Online Application Form (http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/gss);
2.
Official Transcripts from the University attended by applicants*;
3.
Copies of degree certificates;
4.
Documents showing the applicant has fulfilled the Graduate School's English Language Proficiency Requirement;
5.
Confidential Recommendations from Two referees respectively*;
6.
Application Fee Receipt (Not necessary for credit card payment through online application);
7.
Copies of identity card or passport; and
8.
Other supporting documents upon request of the respective divisions.
* Official Transcripts and Confidential Recommendation must reach the respective divisions directly from the University and referees, or in sealed envelopes and send by the applicant
with other support documents to the Graduate Division.
The application fee for admission to one postgraduate programme is HK$180. The application fee, once paid, is not refundable. You can pay by credit card or bank draft/cheque. If you choose the latter, please download the "Payment Voucher" and send it to the division together with your payment.
The divisions will begin the selection process upon receipt of the applications. Individual programmes may require applicants to sit an entrance test or attend interviews. Applicants will be notified individually by the divisions concerned separately.
Results will be posted on our website (research/taught programmes) from mid-February to August every year. Successful applicants will receive the offer letter by August of that admission year. Applicants may consider their applications unsuccessful if they do not hear from us thereafter.
