Internet Course Selection for Postgraduate Students (2009-10)
1. Course selection exercise
a) The course selection exercise for JD/LLM students will begin from 2:00pm on 10 August 2009 (Monday) and end at 2:00pm on 14 August 2009 (Friday). Please login the Graduate School Platform (Students) at https://www.gradsch.cuhk.edu.hk/pgstudent/main.htm to select courses via Section ‘Course Selection’.
b) The Programme will pre-assign courses for RPg and PCLL students.
2. Course selection/pre-assigned courses
Students are advised to check the ‘Programme Arrangement & Schedule’ after login the GS Platform (Students) to make sure whether or not your programme requires you to perform course selection via the internet.
a. Some programmes may have already pre-assigned some courses and require students to select electives. Students are therefore required to perform course selection via the internet.
b. Some programmes may have pre-assigned ALL courses for their students and do not require their students to perform any course selection via the internet. However, they may still check their course registers via GS Platform (Students).
3. Course add/drop schedules
Different programmes have different course add/drop periods. Please check ‘Programme Arrangement & Schedule’ in the GS Platform (Students) for details.
4. Selection of course outside prescribed study scheme and drop pre-assigned courses
If you wish to register course(s) outside your prescribed study scheme i.e. not appear on the timetable of your programme, please complete Form CS-1 and obtain approval from the parties concerned. The form must be returned to the GraduateSchool by the end of the course selection period (or add/drop period, as appropriate).
5. Reference materials
Please read your study scheme in the Postgradate Student Handbook and the Teaching Timetable in GS Platform (Students). If you find it necessary to seek advice, please contact your supervisor/Division.
6. New students
a) New JD/LLM students who have paid tuition fee but with outstanding admission conditions are eligible to select courses during the course selection period.
b) New RPg students who have not yet confirmed registration are NOT eligible to select courses. If they confirm their registration after the course selection period, they can select courses during the add/drop period.
7. Course register
You may always check your course register during and after the course selection period at the GS Platform (Students). For the current academic year, your course register will be tentative until Division’s approval has been obtained (after the add/drop period). Selection of quota courses are subject to Division’s confirmation. Please check your course register before attending classes.
