# Students must have the right of abode in Hong Kong or have resided or have had their homes in Hong Kong continuously for three completed years immediately prior to the commencement of the course (this does not cover students studying in Hong Kong holding student visas). Scholarships and Prizes
A limited number of bursaries and loans are available for full-time local students (taking programmes AND student places which are exclusively UGC-funded or exclusively publicly-funded) with emergency needs arising from sudden change of financial conditions. The bursaries and loans are open for application in September. As these are in general to supplement to the "Tertiary Student Finance Scheme - Publicly-funded Programmes" (TSFS)*provided by the government, students should apply for the government TSFS1 first.
Application forms can be downloaded from the website of the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid (http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/adm/sfas) in September.
The University also administers a number of scholarships and prizes, awarded on the basis of academic performance and nominations from Faculties/Departments. Those for overseas studies are open for application. Further information on Scholarships and prizes is available at the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid Homepage (website: http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/adm/sfas).

-
While in receipt of the PGS award, a student shall not undertake other engagement or employment, full-time or part-time, unless with permission of the University.
